The Keeper by Bonobo

The title track for episode 42 is The Keeper by Bonobo featuring the voice of Andreya Triana. It's a simple, haunting tune that almost speaks to you.

Bonobo is the stage name of Simon Green, a British musician, producer and DJ.

Green has recorded and performed solo DJ sets under the name Barakas, and together with Robert Luis from Tru Thoughts as Nirobi and Barakas.

This particular track was recorded live at KEXP in 2010 but a more produced version with a similar but ultimately different sound can be found on the album "Black Sands".

Episode 9: “Cone Of Light” by The Almighty Defenders

Episode 9 is all about change and who better to turn to when change is looming than to Low Elo and League of Legends? To help spread the gospel, here's a track from a collaborative called The Almighty Defenders.

This album this track is from was written, recorded and mixed in one week following the Black Lips expulsion from India. They flew directly into King Khan's legendary studio in Berlin. It was both bands’ first major collaboration since a US tour 4 years earlier. The result, could be argued to not be a ‘gospel’ record in the traditional sense, sure. Instead, it's a record of pure spirituals from six wise magicians. This isn’t a tribute to a ‘god’, but a testimony to good taste - a church of the mind that's brimming with soul. How such demonic dudes can sound so angelic, we have yet to comprehend, but they somehow manage to bring the true spirit of gospel and make it as raw and beatific as the likes of the Velvet Underground. Exactly how two of the most respected and influential rock’n’roll bands of this decade would do it up.
